An Israeli Air Force pilot of Kurdish-Jewish descent flew over Zakho in Iraqi Kurdistan, the city his family was expelled from in the 1950s.

He snapped a photo and sent a message to his family:
“Greetings from Zakho, on the way to Tehran. See you soon.”
